Haven't been blogging for a week. IT Show 2007 is here from the 8th to the 11th and no, I won't be participating. Lesser crowds at SLS because of the show but it hasn't reduced my workload drastically.

Nothing much has happened recently except maybe for a message that really made my heart sank for 2 days. My dad didn't win the Hong Bao draw, my Hong Bao collection was pretty miserable and life has been pretty much the same. Haven't been going out these 2 weeks and it is making me really bored.

Daryl and I were thinking back about the good ol' days. How our clique actually met, the events that led us to being really good friends and all the things that we've done. Time really flies, many people that I know were 13 or 14 when I first came to know them. And most of them have already reached adulthood. I really miss secondary school life. Maybe it's like what Daryl said. If we had been more fucked up, we could have really dated alot of people. Well what's done is done. Let bygones be bygones.

I picked up quite alot of computer chinese terminology and sometimes I'm mistaken for a Chinese PRC by local Chinese. Recently, people have been asking whether I'm Korean. Today when I went to get my hair cut, the hair dresser asked if I'm local and she commented that I look like I'm either Japanese or Korean.

Think I must have really small & slitty eyes. On a happier note, luckily they don't mention that I look like I'm Chinese PRC.

Valentine's Day has been meaningless for the past 6 years.

It stinks when love is in the air. Sickening to see all the happy couples crowding the streets. 4 bloody trains were full, could only manage to board the 5th one after a long day at work.

There was this group of workers sitting at White Sands talking about Valentine's Day. They mentioned that this is the day where you will see happy guys, happy girls carrying flowers or happy couples. And there are the guys who look depressed or have a sulky face. You will know these are the people who have no luck and affinity with people.

And guess what? I was about to pass them when they said the last line. They took a look at me and they burst out laughing.

Been having insomnia recently, sleeping around 5+ in the morning daily and waking up every subsequent 1/2 hour till I get frustrated and stop trying to sleep.

Friday was the highlight of the week. Really enjoyed the morning ktv session with Daryl, Shaun & Sheena on friday. 4 solid hours from 2 - 6 am. Got home and slept around 7, only to wake up at 7.30 and just did some of my work till the time came to go to work! And what a friday that was, all stoned @ work.

Met up with Charis & Daryl later that day. First it was dinner @ parklane wanton noodles then drinks @ persepolis italian restaurant. We pretty much discussed anything and everything from our lives, kids, economics, work, iraq, the united states of a and conspiracy theories. Great night & good red wine. We left around 3.30 and got home about 4. It was work again and I had to install my customer's lappy with the korean windows xp. Fell asleep while windows was updating around 6.45, woke up at 8 to finish the job.

Today's the best! Went to see the dentist at 0930 and it was snooze time after that, all the way till 5 pm.

Coke Zero is really zero (pun intended) and I don't mean the thing about it being zero calories. Daryl's expression when he first tasted Coke Zero is priceless. We bought a can @ 7-11 for $1.50 and it was a 250ml can of regret.

It is as if they poured water into a empty coke can. As much as I hate all coke variants, I have to say Coke Light tastes much better.

I miss the days when I was still a young child. I was pretty much sheltered and didn't have much desires. I spent most of my childhood days going computer exhibitions @ the old World Trade Centre, doing my homework and memorising the multiplication table in the kitchen.

The only thing I really wished I could have done more when I was at that age, was to watch more cartoons and have more time with the TV. My old telly was in this big wooden cabinet and once it's time to sleep or do homework, they would lock it up. I didn't really have many friends since I was young. I was bullied pretty often and emotions get the better of me. For instance, I was poked in the eye by somebody with a pencil during my kindergarten years. In primary school, people ganged up on me and hurled verbal insults, which I swore that I would one day grow up and be the one taunting and not be on the receiving end.

It wasn't easy being in a SAP school, I left primary education with many friends going into "famous" schools while I went to a neighbourhood school. Many would then move onto JCs then Universities. I just drifted away during the post secondary period.

Seconday School life was 4 years of ups & downs. The first two years of my life were pretty much the most glorious times of my life. I would either top the class or be among the top three for CAs or Mid Years when it comes to English. And surprisingly I managed to be in the top three for Science and Geography. I got 3rd place in class during the final year of Secondary One.

Then came streaming during Secondary Two. I will always remember, there was no tenth position in my class for that year. My friend and I were both eleventh He went to the second class and I went to the fourth class.

Life wasn't easy in Secondary Three after being demoralised. You study so hard, only to go to a class not of your choice. Your results are the same but yet you don't get your placing. I started to play around and as my testimonial says "He has not been taking his studies seriously." After a bad relationship, I could not concentrate on my studies and flunked my mid year. I failed 5 out of 7 subjects. Luckily for me, I did okay in my final year to get me promoted to the next year.

Secondary school was a time where I really had many friends. Many people to chat with online or offline. It was the dawn of the new internet chat era. Met many people from my school off the internet, forged new friendships and one that still stands till this very day. Got to know and meet many people from other walks of life. I guess it was really hard to concentrate when you have to live two lives. And facing a class with many people who dislike you simply because you mix around with your juniors isn't a pleasant experience. Shan't go on droning about the past, getting sick of it myself.

And many years later, I sit infront of my computer and am utterly bored. I even put this up on my msn personal message. "wun (read: won't) somebody chat/entertain me?" As a person grows older, his/her social circle tends to grow smaller, anyways this may not apply to everybody but it certainly applies to me. Would like to thank the wonderful people who answered my S.O.S and chatted with me on msn. The PSP also kept me occupied for a good couple of hours and that is why it is now on my wish list!

Gonna turn in now although I most probably will be rolling around in bed. Have been suffering from insomnia lately, this isn't good. à tout à l'heure.

Accompanied Christine to the dentist's for her third wisdom tooth extraction last monday. She can't eat solid foods for a week and it really seems painful. She asked why is it that she's the only one among us who has to get her wisdom tooth extracted? And I replied that maybe because she's wiser? I don't mind being dumb for that matter.

Anyways, I went for my dental checkup last sunday and guess what? I have to arrange for wisdom teeth extraction as well. Why teeth? Cos' I have three to extract. OMG! Need to get my x-ray done soon to see whether surgery is needed. Watch out girl! I'm catching up.

There she was, clad in a green & black striped dress. This was the very first time he laid eyes on her. She wasn't supposed to be alone, she had been stood up. Feeling awkward she decided to leave after some small talk. He walked her to the elevator and turned around when his friends called out to him. And when he turned around, she had left without a word.

He did not know why he ran after her but he did. Running down the escalator and rushing towards the train station, he could not find her. Feeling lost, he went back to join his friends but he did not mention anything about how he had felt.

They had been conversing over the phone and exchanging letters and neo prints for quite some time prior to their first meeting. She called later to tell him that she was back at home and the phone conversations were never the same ever since.

Haven't been doing anything except working for the entire week. Daryl & Serene took me to Chinatown Complex opposite SGH for claypot rice last friday. I have to say, it was great. After that, Daryl & I headed down to Harbour Front to meet up with Shaun & Qingwei. Shaun had suggested that we check out St James Power House.

Everybody going there was dressed to kill and obviously we were not. Daryl was wearing berms and I was wearing slippers. We then decided to watch The Convenant @ Vivo City. Anyways we saw Tay Ping Hui jaywalking and cutting across the road.

It was my first time going to Vivo City and it's really big. Didn't really go exploring cos' we only had 30 minutes before the show starts. Went to the roof top pool area and sat there to chit chat, it's a nice place to chill.

The Convenant is directed by Renny Harlin and produced by the people who brought you Underworld. The Convenant is like a male version of 1996's 'The Craft'. The actors are new but they fare well and so did the story. The male protaganist, Steven Strait previously acted in 'Sky High' and the two female leads, Laura Ramsey & Jessica Lucas acted in 'She's the Man'. And OMG, Laura Ramsey bears an uncanny resemblance to Claire Danes in this show.

The dialogues are pretty cool cept' maybe the lines for the male antagonist Sebastian Stan towards the end of the show. The show was doing fine till the last battle scene. Not going to spoil it for people who haven't watch the show. If you have cash to spare and you're bored, catch it. The plot is interesting and there's enough eye candy for both guys and gals.

Anyways, met my mui, Peishi for dinner @ Fish & Co, Bugis Junction today. Food was good, just not as good as it was 5 - 6 years back. I can't really recall when I last ate at Fish & Co, but I believed it was before I enlisted. I have only eaten like three times @ Fish & Co. The first & second time was at it's very first outlet @ Plaza Singapura, the third was @ Suntec and this makes the fourth time.

Service was good. To me, the minimum criteria is to hear the waiter/waitresses acknowledging with a "You're Welcome". We were actually a lil embarassed as we were the last two to leave and they were closing. Thanks Peishi for dinner and I had a good time catching up with you.

Really tired of falling sick every alternate day. Hate my existence. What's the point of earning money only to make ends meet? I dread every end of the month and every start of the month.

You get your pay and your bills. Pay them off and struggle through the month only to repeat the cycle. I'm currently into my 4th week of storing off for study purposes. Working 7 days straight is no joke. As lifeless this job can be, it's even worst when you're working every single day of the week. I don't go out except to work. It isn't that bad since nobody asks me out anyway, it's just how it feels.

Life at this current phase really sucks. Those of you reading this and you are currently not at this phase. Think far and plan your future, it is really not worth trading your time for money. With a better qualification, you will most probably enjoy a better pay with shorter working hours. Ultimately, a better life.

I'm really tired of the rat race, the work and my life.

It's August 9th and today we celebrate Singapore's 41st year of independence. I am going to be working as usual. No public holidays for this IT slave! It is definitely gonna be a helluva ride home on the train tonight. Party goers, fireworks watchers, small kids, young teenagers. Lots of loud talking and playing around.

Really getting old, I am easily irritated by chirpy voices and loud conversations. I can just imagine we could have been easily 10 times louder than them when we were young. Sigh, time and tide waits for no man. Happy National Day and enjoy your holiday!

A group of guys in their thirties spent about 20k odd on 4 new systems at the shop next door yesterday. Two AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core 4600s and Two Intel Core™ 2 Duo E6300s each costing about 5k odd.

By the way for the uninformed, the Intel Core™ 2 Duo aka Allendale/Conroe/Conroe XE is Intel's latest answer to end AMD's 3 year reign since the introduction of the AMD Athlon™ 64. The releases are as follows

Allendale - E4200/4300/6300/6400
Conroe - E6600/6700
Conroe XE - X6800/6900

I wonder when I'll get to see the black box. Intel Core™ 2 Extreme X6800.

Gadget time! Played around with the 'Wi-Drive' by Singapore starup, EDS Labs Pte Ltd recently. A portable wireless storage solution that allows either a 1.8"/2.5" hard drive. It also features a built in 802.11b/g WiFi adapter.

Remember the times when you were little? You wished you were in control but you knew you couldn't. Patiently you waited for every year to go by with every additional candle on the birthday cake.

You just wished you could grow up instantly and embrace adulthood.

I'm turning 24 this year and I can't help but feel a sense of sadness. I wish I could turn back time. I really do. I never studied hard enough only to regret. I want to study but I can't afford the time. Even if I had the time, I cannot afford to.

Daryl said it is sad how we have grown up to be and I concur. The best days of my life were my upper secondary years and a year or two after I graduated. I had fun and I had lots of friends of both gender. Daryl also mentioned that we are just reminicsing the days that date back at least 7 to 9 years back. New memories? Few, or should I say almost inexistent?

Our group has braved many storms and in the end became a single gender group. At least for me, the number of girls that I know or hang out with, has been reduced drastically. And what could be worst? I don't look good and that plays a major part. And now, I work in a male dominant environment of the service industry. No public holidays and no weekends. I work when people are resting, vice versa. The bottom line is, I grow up to be a loser.

I guess the Jianming, that people now know isn't the same anymore. The previous one died 6 years ago. The current one struggled and hanged on to the remnants for 5 long years. Why did he not move on? He tried. Every time when somebody new came along, he tried. He was never rejected as he never asked. It made no difference, he would bond, get really close and in the end be left hanging. Like I said, looks play a major part. He had hoped for a love that would never be rekindled. Wasting every single day away, stuck in the shadow of his own mistakes. It took him a great deal of time and pain before finally closing that chapter of his life.

What's left of him? A pitiful existence in a rotting shell. It's time to sleep this depression away. Sorry for such a boring entry.

Just four days ago, I was seriously irritated by this guy on the train. Think he's either in his late teens or early adult hood. He was debating about politics with his girlfriend and man was he pissed.

Anyways he mentioned alot of things that I disagreed with but I shall not elaborate. The thing is I didn't understand why at his age should he get so pissed and in the end disagree with his girl and ignore her.

I don't even think he has even voted. We are undeniably for most Singaporeans, living in our comfort zone. My advice to him, wait till you get a job and start paying out the bills both personal and family.

The long awaited day is finally over, Daryl & Shaowei came over to my place to duke it out in Winning Eleven 10. 6 1/2 hours of Winning Eleven madness, loads of fun, excitment & especially laughter when it drew closer to 5 AM. 5 hours of continous matches, led to a whole load of blunders & bloopers.

Age is really catching up with me, I used to be able to play games for a few days straight without sleep. Sigh!

I started work last year on the 18th of May. Time flies, it has been a year but it feels like it's been years.

Unfamiliar faces have become an everyday sight. I'm pretty much used to being lifeless. Six days at work, 1 week day off. Work's actually not that bad, you start off later than the rest but the trade off is you end up being lifeless.

My work place's a mess which I can never get used to. The company is small so we don't have alot of people. Minus the standard office politics, it is a fun place to work in.

Just came back from Newton Circus. Was @ Club Momo from 11PM till 4PM today. It's been at least a good few months to half a year since I've been to Club Momo. The experience was about the same just that this time there wasn't a raid.

Was there to celebrate my colleague's birthday in advance. Saw quite a couple of friends from the good ol' army days. Apparently they were there for the NTU Faculty Bash, pretty much scattered in both Club Momo and Momo Live.

I spent about $210 on a bottle of Chivas and multiple tequila shots, we shared the bottle and expense of the bottle among 3. Club Momo was very crowded today, didn't see much babes except for our company that arrived later, LOL. And gees, I suck @ 5 , 10. Anyways, I got to befriend one of the waitress (tequila server) and got her number for fun. I guess these things are easy when you don't look good but order 17 shots of tequila. Had 7 1/2 shots myself and she had 6 1/2 shots. The rest of the shots were for the girls.

I'm really getting old, although I'm still alive & very much sober at this present moment, I am really tired. Finally battled my nemesis after so many years, and you guessed it right, it is none other than "THE TEQUILA". Clubbed once again in a long time. And the best thing is, I'm on OFF on a Public Holiday!

In another 6 days, i would have worked a year in SLS. My brain is slowing down rapidly, my body is aching like mad. These are signs of old age and a desperate need for sleep, and with that, I bid you adieu.
